The Venue

Sangsurya is a retreat centre nestled in the peaceful hinterland of Byron Bay

A spacious room with a high, wooden, vaulted ceiling, ceiling fans, and large windows allowing natural light. The room has chairs arranged in rows, a red rug, and soft lighting from floor lamps, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

Sangsurya’s buildings are set amongst sub-tropical gardens, walking trails and a myriad of bird life. During your retreat you can relax by the ph-balanced swimming pool, enjoy ocean views and coastal breezes, stroll through native Australian rainforest or simply rest and meditate in the many little alcoves dotted around the property.

Sangsurya Retreat Centre features a large Thai-style timber meditation and instruction training hall, a workshop space, treatment rooms, and spacious dining and lounge areas. Traditional Indian and Asian decor make each space distinctively enchanting. Mosaic tiled bathrooms and pathways feature throughout the property displaying an artistic and joyful flair.

Accommodation at Sangsurya Retreat Centre is in Thai style hand-built timber-floored houses and cabins. Bedrooms are uniquely positioned amidst sub-tropical gardens and give a lovely sense of privacy and tranquillity. Each room has been individually designed and furnished to have its own charming ambience. All are heated, air-conditioned and have ceiling fans. No two rooms are the same!

2026 Participants receive a $100 discount.

Rates are all inclusive of meals, accommodation, teaching and facilitation. All amounts are AUD.

Songweaver is a fully-catered retreat. You will enjoy delicious, nourishing meals every day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - as well as afternoon tea. If you have any special dietary requirements, you can let us know when you register.

NB: Day 1 includes dinner only, and Day 6 includes breakfast only.
